Yord Daanen®

(ABOUT )
I am Yord Daanen. I bring creativity, curiosity, and dedication together. I am a 19-year-old architectural student, currently studying at Koning Willem I College in ’s-Hertogenbosch. There I follow the Middle Management Officer Construction & Architecture program. Whilst in my third year, I keep expanding my technical knowledge. Besides, my creative thinking skills remain growing too. All in all, I enjoy every step of the process.
What drives me is a strong motivation to grow and reach my goals. When I set my mind to something, I give it my full focus and energy to achieve the best possible outcome. That mindset is reflected in everything I do, both in my studies and beyond.
Outside of school, I enjoy expressing myself through creativity. I love drawing, making music, and building or fixing things around the house. Music is a big passion of mine, and I regularly play guitar. I also stay active through sports, especially by running & calisthenics.
For me, architecture is about more than just buildings, it’s about shaping meaningful spaces where people feel connected, inspired, and at home. I'm still learning and growing, but this is the vision I hope to bring to life in my future as an architect.

Veekens BTA (Internship)
12 May, 2021 – 20 May, 2021
I completed this internship in my third year at Merlet College. It was a trial internship to help me explore potential interests for my further studies. During the week, I had the opportunity to assist in measuring an existing house and got my first experience with Revit, which was quite a challenge at the time due to my limited experience. This internship made me realize how much I enjoyed the work and confirmed that I wanted to pursue this field in my future education.

April 21, 2025 – July 4, 2025
I completed this internship in my second year at Koning Willem I College. The internship lasted ten weeks, during which I worked a total of 400 hours. During my internship, I worked with Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp, and rendered SketchUp models using Enscape.
Additionally, I joined meetings with the municipality of Maashorst, housing corporation Joost, and other project partners. This internship helped me improve my Revit skills and gave me valuable insight into real-world architectural work.
I really appreciate the great learning experience I had at Archifit.

Archifit (Internship)
August 25, 2025 – Present
I completed my second internship at Archifit during my studies at Koning Willem I College. This internship lasted twenty weeks, giving me the opportunity to further develop my skills and build on the experience I gained during my previous internship at the firm.
During this internship, I mainly worked with Revit and AutoCAD, where I assisted with modeling, detailing, and preparing technical drawings. Over the course of the internship, I became more fluent and confident in using these programs and was able to work more independently.
In addition, I participated in meetings with clients, contractors, and other project partners. This gave me valuable insight into the design process, decision-making, and the importance of clear communication within architectural projects. I look back on this internship as a very valuable learning experience.
I’m grateful for the valuable learning experience I had at Archifit.
